Jeremy’s vision journey began when he was at a baseball game and realized his eyesight wasn’t what it used to be. “I was really thrilled to be able to do something to try to change that,” Jeremy shared after winning Twin Cities Eye Consultants’ “20 Goals to 20/20” sweepstakes in partnership with Minnesota United FC. His excitement over winning free LASIK, which transformed his vision, mirrors the excitement he feels watching his favorite sports—this time without the need for glasses.
Living with Vision Struggles
Over time, Jeremy’s vision had progressively worsened. “My vision has been something that’s progressively gotten worse, and it made things more challenging,” he recalled. For years, Jeremy relied on glasses and contacts to correct his eyesight. But glasses, especially during long hours or active days, began to “bug” him, making his daily life feel more constrained.
The Decision to Choose LASIK
Jeremy’s decision to opt for LASIK wasn’t made lightly. He had considered the procedure before, but hearing about how the technology had advanced made it feel like the right moment. “The more I understood about it…technology has advanced, made it seem more and more appealing,” he said, adding that knowing the procedure would be “so quick, and relatively easy” helped him commit.
The New View of Life Post-LASIK
Now, after his LASIK surgery, Jeremy can fully appreciate the joy of watching a game without glasses or contacts. “I can’t even imagine how crazy it’ll be to sit up there, see the field clearly, and enjoy the game with no distractions,” he marveled. Whether it’s cheering for his team or going about his daily activities, Jeremy’s life has been transformed.
