Dr. David Folden and Dr. Jennifer Wong published the results of their study on the use of a new, second-generation Light Adjustable Lens (also known as LAL 2.0 or “ActivShield” LAL) used in cataract surgery. The LAL 2.0 gives patients the most accurate and efficient means for maximizing the quality of their vision and reducing the need for glasses or contacts after cataract surgery. It is particularly helpful for patients with previous history or LASIK, PRK, and/or RK for achieving good vision with cataract surgery. Their study provides the very first reported outcomes of the LAL 2.0 in the medical literature.
