Amanda Schmitz, OD
Optometrist
Dr. Schmitz specializes in comprehensive eye exams for the whole family and has special interests in pediatric myopia management, binocular vision disorders, and pre and post-cataract surgical co-management. As a child, she experienced firsthand how much eye care can improve a person’s life by having her own amblyopia (lazy eye) corrected.
Education
Dr. Schmitz is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin: La Crosse where she graduated with honors with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a minor in Chemistry. She attended the Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, Tennessee and graduated Magna Cum Laude in 2012. While in school, she received a 2nd year clinical science award and was inducted into the Beta Sigma Kappa International Optometric Honor Society.

Personal
Dr. Schmitz enjoys cheering on Minnesota sports teams, hiking, horseback riding and spending time with her husband, two children and their Samoyed dog.
